- It’s the fastest game on two feet. It’s LACROSSE -
The Indians developed it as "The Creator's Game". It was their practice in warfare; combining strength, speed and cooperation. Now refined, it’s a sport immensely popular at Colleges and Universities throughout the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Germany and… the Netherlands!
The sport lacrosse is the ultimate combination between basketball, rugby, ice hockey and field hockey. The sport knows three very distinct variants: men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and box lacrosse. The latter is played indoor by six player and is not (yet) played in the Netherlands.
Men’s and women’s lacrosse know many differences. They have different rules, equipment and linings on the field.
Women’s lacrosse is technical and demanding. So, not as Barbie-like as field hockey. Men play it even rougher. They drop some rules and add protection. Although it’s rough, with man-down defense, fast-breaks and wrap-around scoring only strategy can win you the game.
